Like much of viticultural Spain, Ribera del Duero has a long history of winemaking.

But a chance meeting between Mariano García, former star winemaker of Vega Sicilia, and Javier Zaccagnini, former President of the governing body of the Ribera del Duero DO, gave birth to this quality-oriented estate which produced its first vintage in 1999, a year after its creation.


They set a specific goal: to develop a wine with a distinct personality from the very beginning, and to reach the highest quality, comparable to the greatest wines of the world, in a lapse of 15 to 20 years. 

Bodegas Aalto, with a strong technical background in its production and exacting selection processes, has already become a reference in the Ribera del Duero because its quality wines.
