Abel Mendoza Graciano Grano a Grano

Abel Mendoza Graciano Grano a Grano is a red wine from Rioja produced by Bodegas Abel Mendoza Monge, a winery founded in 1988 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, near the Sierra de Cantabria.

The climate in Rioja Alavesa is continental and moderate, marked by a Cantabrian influence. Temperatures are mild with moderate rainfall. The vineyard of this Graciano wine have an average age of 35 years and they are situated on the banks of the Ebro River, on clay, loam and fine sandstones soils. The farming methods used are entirely organic. After husking is completed manually grain by grain (this is where the name “Grano a Grano” comes from), fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels. Finally, the wine spends 18 months in new French oak barrels. Limited production for only 1800 bottles.
