Product Description
This is another great univarietal, low production wine from Bodegas Canopy from Mentrida wine region. La Vina Escondida – the “hidden vineyard”, is made from 100% Garnacha tinta.
The on average 65 year-old vineyard’s soil is of Siliceo – Granite, with a plantation density of 1800 vines / hectare. Rainfall is poor in this area reaching around 600 litres a year. Therefore yields are as low as 1600 kg/ hectare.
The harvest is done manually. Fermentation takes place in 1500kg oval steel tanks, at a temperature of 23-25ºC, during 12-16 days.
After that it spends 18 months in French oak barrels and another 14-18 months in bottle. This wine has not been filtered, neither clarified.2016

Cherry and nice deep garnet color.
14.5% vol.
In nose there are abundant mineral aromas, sensations of creamy oak, sweet and spices, ripe fruit and herbs from the mountain.
D.O. Méntrida
In mouth savory, abit bitter aromas, very good and fresh acidity and a long, persistent finish.
