One of the best examples of Mencía wines from Bierzo. A concentrated wine with a great mineral background, which is a pure expression of the slate soils of the area. It is the result of a traditional winemaking and an ageing in French oak barrels for 10 months. A wine with a limited production which can be stored for 15-20 years approximately. An excellent, elegant, deep and complex wine. To be enjoyed slowly. Made from old Mencía grape vines planted on slate soils on steep slopes at 600m altitude, Valtuille is a special wine made by Raúl Pérez. His wines excellently represent the whole Bierzo region and are wines of great quality and concentrated minerals.

Dark cherry colour with maroon edges. A wine with a high robe and abundant tears.

14% vol.

It has that extra dimension aromatically imparted by the old vines. Aromas of black raspberry, cherry, spice box, and incense leap from the glass.

Not quite as impressive on the palate but irst class nevertheless, the wine is dense, ripe, sweet, and very lengthy. It will continue to unfold for another 4-6 years.
